NWU Mahikeng football team on winning track in Potch

NWU will play against Magesi FC (Limpopo) in the semi-final at Olen Park this afternoon (14:30).

The North West University (Mahikeng) football team are currently unbeaten in the 2022 ABC Motsepe League Promotion playoffs in Potchefstroom.

This tournament will decide which two teams get promoted to the second division of South African Football, namely the NFD Glad Africa Championship.

There has been much at stake for the nine teams across the country who has descended in Potchefstroom for a place in the second best league in the country.

NWU Mahikeng (group C) has picked up two wins, (1-0) against Bayern FC of Mpumalanga and a resounding 3-1 win against Summerfield Dynamos of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The winner will qualify for the Glad Africa Championship for the 2022/23 season. The match will be live from 15:00 on Supersport 202 and SABC Sport.

MM Platinum (Gauteng) has already qualified for the Glad Africa Championship after winning their semi-final 1-0 against Spear of the Nation FC (Eastern Cape). La Masia secured a win thanks to a stoppage time winner from Betheul Tulane.
