South Africa ready to impress on home soil in Hockey Nations League

The South African team is filled with exciting talent such as goal scorer, Matthew Guise-Brown, Sam Ntuli, and the Cassiem brothers, Mustapha and Dayaan

The reigning African champions, South Africa, will want to make the most of home advantage in Potchefstroom in the inaugural FIH Men’s Hockey Nations League from 28 November – 4 December at the NWU Astroturf.

The South Africans are at home in Potchefstroom at the NWU Astroturf, having played in the Men’s Pro League in February and putting in good results against top opposition. SA (currently ranked 16th in the world) will now look to continue that good form in a bid to qualify for the elite league in men’s hockey.

They already showed promise with a semi-final appearance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The South African team is filled with exciting talent such as goal scorer, Matthew Guise-Brown, Sam Ntuli, and the Cassiem brothers, Mustapha and Dayaan who also provide scoring ability and skills up front. Gowan Jones’ goalkeeping skills will also play a huge part in his nations’ chances of trophy success in this tournament.

The experience of Jethro Eustice, Taine Paton and Keenan Horne will also be invaluable to the team.
