Dan Tloome took first place and second place in the girls u.13 category, whilst Keagile took the win in the boys u.13 section.
Keagile took first in the girls u.11 category with Pudulogo taking first in the boys u.11 category.
The action was fast and competitive, with the youngsters eager to score goals. When goals were struck, extravagant celebration and immeasurable joy followed.
“The tournament was great, we thank the stakeholders involved, the host school Keagile and Standard Bank for their amazing service to our community in making the event possible, there is a need to have more tournaments like these. Our aim as Sport Is Life Movement is to create an environment for sport participation and create more opportunities for learners to express themselves while building them to become their best possible self. Sport is a tool for building and we are glad that we have these schools that have started with hockey,” stated tournament organiser, Mthokozo Mbotho of Sport is Life NPC.
Mbotho is also excited about the amount of potential and talent in the province.
“We need to ensure that we unearth that talent, and that is a reason why this tournament came to light, when more schools buy into modified hockey then a larger pool of players will be there. It was a great experience for me and for the kids and we hope to invite more schools to the next one.”
