The North West Dragons began their CSA Four Day Cup campaign on a steady note reaching 319/6 at stumps against the Warriors at the J.B. Marks Oval.
The Dragons won the toss an elected to bat first on a cloudy Saturday morning (4 November).
Dragons opener, Lesego Senokwane, batted beautifully scoring 100 (191 balls) which included 15 fours. Raynard van Tonder (53 off 108 balls) and Wihan Lubbe 42 (58 balls) also made meaningful contributions in a fine top order batting performance.

The Dragons were on 239/3 when a three wicket-blitz from Warriors’ pace bowler, Alfred Mothoa (3/43), made a dent in the middle order.
He had Lubbe chopping onto his stumps from a wide ball, then bowled Ruan de Swardt for 1 before trapping Meeka-eel Prince for a duck.
Senuran Muthusamy (50*) and Migael Pretorius (38*) then combined for an undefeated 74-run partnership as they steered the Dragons out of troublesome period.
The Dragons will look to pile on more runs to put the Warriors under pressure in which should be an intriguing second day of play.
