It was a good weekend for the NWU-based teams with NWU 1, Ibbies and Taurus picking up good wins.

The second round of matches in the North West Cricket Premier League T20 A division saw the batsmen dominate the bowlers in numerous high-scoring T20 matches.
It was a good weekend for the NWU-based teams with NWU 1, Ibbies and Taurus picking up good wins.

NWU 1 had a tricky encounter against Impala first up which saw them concede 159/3 against Impala. Estiaan Schonfeldt of Impala was in terrific form with a solid 61 (40) for the visitors. The NWU made light work of the target thanks to a bludgeoning 94* (59) from player of the match SW Kemp and 43 (36) from Taheer Isaacs. They reached the target in only 17 overs with 9 wickets to spare.

Ibbies also had a tough time in the field against Travelling Reefs, but managed to win the match by 6 wickets thanks to a tremendous batting performance.
Reefs made 181/1 in their 20 overs thanks to a spectacular 102* (62) from Marneu Dreyer. Edward Dreyer also hit a solid 55* (55).

Ibbies though came unstuck against Potch Dorp 1 by 8 wickets after they struggled in their batting innings.

Ibbies were bowled out for 126 largely due to the efforts of Potch Dorp’s Pieter Wiid (4/20) and Ettienne Beukes (2/24). Potch Dorp’s Lohard Janse van Rensburg hit 73* (31) to take his side to a deserved victory.

Potch Dorp though had a bittersweet weekend, as they went down to Taurus by 7 wickets in their other encounter.
