The Dragons bowlers toiled without much luck on the second day of the CSA 4 Day Cup division 1 match against the KZN Inland Tuskers at the J.B. Marks Oval.
The Tuskers made 333/4 at stumps on day 2. This was largely due to opener Ben Compton who scored a superb 170 from 266 balls.
Compton, the grandson of former England batsman, Denis Compton, rode his luck during the innings, but managed to stick it out.
The left-hander’s confidence grew as the innings progressed. He played beautifully and was the anchor of the innings. He hit 19 fours before playing on to his stumps.

The NW Dragons best bowler in the day was Migael Pretorius (4/68) in 20 overs. He picked up all the wickets and bowled his heart out in scorching conditions.
Pretorius also picked up the wickets of Tian Koekemoer 49 and Kagiso Rapulana 33.
Duan Jansen (0/29) from 13 overs, CJ King (0/46) from 14 overs, Kerwin Mungroo (0/47) from 13 overs and Senuran Muthusamy (0/71) from 19 overs kept things tight without getting on the wickets column.
The Tuskers trail by 98 runs with six wickets in hand.
Michael Erlank (38 off 86 balls) and nightwatchman, Keith Dudgeon (8 from 11 balls) will continue to chip away at the Dragons’ first innings score of 431 all out.
Day 3 starts at 10:00 today (Saturday, 2 December)
