Saints’ girls u/13 are provincial champions

Saints beat Laerskool Mooirivier by 96 runs due to a terrific team effort with bat and ball.

Saints’ u/13 girls cricket team is on top of the cricketing mountain once again after a superb 96-run win in the NW u/13 final this past Friday.

Saints beat Laerskool Mooirivier with ease due to a terrific team effort with bat and ball. The Duma sisters, Siphokazi and Siphumelele, took 8 wickets between them to lead their team to the win. Siphokazi took 5 and her younger sibling 3, as wickets tumbled at regular intervals.

Siphokazi Duma took 5 wickets with her off-spin bowling.

Yodahe Erco also made a superb 50, with Tshiamo Skunka also adding handy runs in the middle order to take Saints to 157.

Mooirivier could only make 61 as Saints kept their foot on the accelerator, not giving their opposition a sniff.

“Well played, girls! You once again showed why you are the team to beat with a hat-trick of titles,” the school said in a statement
