For many young players in Potchefstroom, the Leopards’ performances on the rugby field are about more than just the game, they are a source of inspiration and dreams taking shape.
Potchefstroom High School for Boys, expressed its deepest gratitude to the Leopards after their 1st XV boys had the privilege of attending every home game this season. According to the school, these experiences have made a tremendous difference in the lives of their young players.
“When our boys watch the Leopards play, they don’t just see a match, they see the passion, discipline, and the pride it takes to wear that jersey. For many of them, pulling on the Leopards jersey one day is a dream,” Mohau Mohlahleli Head of Sports at Boys High said.
Players described the occasions when some Leopards players came forward to do the opening for their school team as moments they will never forget. These gestures had a big impact, showing the boys that their own dreams are within reach.
“You have given them role models, not just athletes. You have given them belief, not just a game,” Mohlahleli continued.
For the young players, the Leopards jersey has become a symbol of dedication, pride, and a goal to strive toward. The school says the influence of the team goes beyond the field, it builds confidence, ambition, and a sense of belonging.
