NW Platinum Inter-high at McArthur Stadium today

Fifteen top schools are scheduled to compete, including Ferdinand Postma High School and HTS Potchefstroom.

The heat is on today as the 2026 North-West Platinum Inter-high arrives at the NWU McArthur Stadium.

On February 19, some of the province’s finest young athletes will go head-to-head in a day of high-stakes track and field action.

Roland Lubinda of Ferdies will be one to watch.

Fifteen top schools are scheduled to compete, including Ferdinand Postma High School and HTS Potchefstroom. All eyes will be on the defending champions, Hoërskool Wolmaransstad, who are looking to keep their title. They face stiff competition from the event hosts, Hoërskool Schoonspruit from Klerksdorp, and a strong side from Hoërskool Bekker. Temperatures are expected to soar throughout the day, which will be a precursor to the competition and camaraderie on display.

The action will start at 07:00. Tickets are R20 per person.
