No parking or entry at Rag Farm for NWU and Ikeys Varsity Cup clash

The temporary arrangements are necessary to ensure safe and controlled access to the stadium for tomorrow's Varsity Cup clash.

Flooding in and around the RAG Farm area has caused the NWU to change parking and access arrangements for the Varsity Cup fixture between the NWU Eagles and UCT-Ikeys on Monday, 30 March.

According to the NWU Varsity Cup management, no spectators will be permitted to park or enter via the RAG Farm area for tomorrow’s matches, which includes the NWU Young Guns game that will kick-off at 15:00.

“These temporary arrangements are necessary to ensure safe and controlled access to the stadium despite the current flooding conditions.”

Revised arrangements:

  • All spectator parking will now be at the JB Marks Cricket Oval parking area (Loop Street).
  • Access to the JB Marks Cricket is via Thabo Mbeki Way.
  • Spectators will enter from the cricket stadium and walk through the JB Marks Oval Cricket Oval precinct to the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds.
  • The designated pedestrian pathways will be clearly indicated and managed by NWU marshals on site.
  • No ticket holding spectator vehicles will be allowed to enter via the Loop Street gate.
  • The Loop Street gate is strictly reserved for operational access only and may not be used by spectators for parking or drop-off.
  • The NWU requests that all spectators plan accordingly, allow extra time for arrival, and follow the directions of NWU marshals and event staff at all times.
