Seven top athletes from KFA Potchefstroom displayed their talents at the recent South African National Kickboxing Championships which took place in Oudtshoorn at the end of April.
These championships had a total of 930 entries over a 3-day competition. Gold medals went to Coenraad Bezuidehout and Mia Wernich. Tyler Pratten, Aston Pratten and Monique Malan won silver, whilst Eduan Naude, Willbrey Prinsloo, both Pratten’s and Wernich also won bronze.
Gold medals:
Coenraad Bezuidenhout – Point Fighting.
Mia Wernich – Point Fighting, Light Contact.
Silver medals:
Tyler Pratten – Point Fighting.
Aston Pratten – Point Fighting, Team Point Fighting, Kick-Light.
Monique Malan – Light Contact, Kick-Light.
Bronze medals:
Eduan Naude – Team Point Fighting.
Willbrey Prinsloo – Team Point Fighting.
Tyler Pratten – Team Point Fighting.
Aston Pratten – Light Contact.
Mia Wernich – Team Point Fighting.
“Their performances were not only outstanding but also a true testament to their dedication and professionalism. I’m very proud to say that all the athletes from KFA Martial Arts achieved podium positions at such a high level of a true Kickboxing Championship,” stated Shihan Johan van der Schyff.
Shihan van der Schyff also congratulated all the athletes that qualified for the WAKO World Youth Kickboxing Championships 2026 that will be held in Jesolo, Italy from 18-27 September.
