Saints cricketer makes national debut against Pakistan

Reabetswe Dithipe made Saints and Potch proud with her efforts.

Saints Christian School all-rounder, Reabetswe Dithipe, made her international debut for the SA U19 women’s cricket team on Tuesday, July 14 in Karachi, Pakistan.

SA won the match by 4 wickets to start their 5 match One Day series on a winning note.

Dithipe bowled beautifully without picking up a wicket in her three overs. She conceded 15 runs and impressed with her control.

Dithipe has been playing cricket since primary school at Saints under the guidance of coaches, Ché Williams and Claudio Lucas. 

Pakistan eventually made 103/6 in their 20 overs. The top bowler for SA was Ashleigh van Wyk who took 3/15 with her spin-bowling.

SA chased down the target thanks to a solid knock from Chanel Venter (41 from 32 balls).

The second match will take place on Friday, July 17 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
