AAC juniors make KZN cross country team for SA champs

It will be the first time that Mukelani will represent KZN

THREE Amanzimtoti Athletics Club juniors were selected to represent KZN in the SA cross-country championships in Middelburg, Mpumalanga on 12 September.

They are KZN girls 14 cross-country champion, Lee-anne Blake, girls 17 silver-medallist Hlengiwe Zuma, and boys 19 age group runner Mukelani (Norman) Khuzwayo.

It will be the first time that Mukelani will represent KZN, having joined and started training with the club 18 months ago. He joins many of the club’s juniors who have achieved KZN colours over the last few years. Although coastal athletes are at a distinct disadvantage when competing at the higher altitudes of inland venues, these athletes are expected to give a good account of themselves.
