“However, two men ran away, while the other was abducted and forced into a car. The man said the car drove off towards Merebank. As they were approaching Merebank robots, the man managed to jump out of the vehicle and fled on foot,” said Govindasamy.
While traveling towards Merebank, the victim managed to exit the vehicle at the Himalayas Road traffic light. The suspects opened fire, striking the victim in the lower abdomen.
“The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction. PT Tactical Specialised Units and Nickhil RCW responded immediately to the call-out. Wentworth police also arrived swiftly on the scene to secure the area and initiate investigations. The victim was stabilised and treated on the scene by PT Alarms Ambulance Services before being transported to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment,” Govindasamy added.
At the time of publishing, the suspects were still at large.
