Police launch crime awareness campaign in Montclair

The ongoing crime awareness campaigns in Montclair will continue throughout the festive season to ensure public safety.

AS the December holidays are around the corner, the police in Montclair have formed a strong partnership with the Community Police Forum to devise plans on how to root out criminal activity in the neighbourhood.

The members of the Social Crime Prevention unit together with the Vispol Commander, Captain Vernon Naidoo held a crime awareness campaign about safety tips on November 24.

The safety tips included the following:
  • Carjackings
  • Street robberies
  • Theft of and from motor vehicles
  • ATM scammers

Joining in the awareness campaign were the Montclair CPF representatives and Yellowwood Park sub-forum members.

The main objective of this awareness is to forge strong relations between the police and the communities

Sergeant Noma Mnguni of the Montclair Police Station said, “The aim is to caution the public about criminal activities that tend to increase during the December holidays.

“The campaign continued with snake patrols, where E2 Security also joined with blue lights. It was a successful awareness campaign and 150 pamphlets were distributed to the community.”
