Joining the clean-up were workers from Durban Solid Waste (DSW) who assisted the community with the removal of refuse and clearing a dumping site near the road.
A resident, Praggie Moodley, said the aim of the initiative was to encourage the public to clean the environment.
“We were assisted by Ntokozo Ndimande from DSW who arranged with his team to come and do a clean-up. The clean-up was a great success,” said Moodley.
He said such community initiatives will continue in the near future to ensure that the environment remains clean.

He added that the initiatives are aimed at encouraging residents to take greater responsibility for their surroundings.
Moodley urged residents to support future clean-up campaigns and to play their part by disposing of waste responsibly and keeping public spaces clean.
He said continued community participation would be essential in creating a cleaner, healthier and more attractive environment for everyone.
