This week's big issues revolve around the year's second major golf tournament and, of course, Kaizer Chiefs, as is so often the case.
Four South African golfers teed it up on Thursday in the 105th PGA Championship, the second Major of the year on the international golf calendar.
Mzansi’s top-ranked golfer Christiaan Bezuidenhout, ranked 77th on the world rankings, is the highest-ranked local hopeful to step onto the tee box at Oak Hills. The others are Ockie Strydom, featuring in his first Major, 26-year-old prospect Thristan Lawrence and veteran Dean Burmester.
And … Kaizer Chiefs is a massive brand here and beyond our borders. It comes with expectations and certain responsibilities. We pose the question if Arthur Zwane was the man to take them forward or are Chiefs supporters just too impatient to wait for a ‘project’ to start showing positive progress?
