Zungu: I’ve got so much love and respect for Pitso

Amiens SC midfielder Bongani Zungu says he did not mean to disrespect Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane with his tweets.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder posted a tweet praising former Sundowns assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena, saying he was the man behind Masandawana’s success.

Following a backlash on social media by fans, Zungu later deleted the tweets and apologised to Sundowns fans and Mosimane.

“I didn’t mean what everyone was saying, I have got so much love and respect for Pitso, so I wouldn’t disrespect him and he knows that,” Zungu told SAFM.

“I feel like the people made it big (than it was) and coach Micho was involved but like I said I didn’t mean it in a wrong way and I apologise and it’s in the past. I haven’t talked to coach Pitso, I was thinking of texting him, but I haven’t. I will call or text maybe one day meet him but I am sure he understands what’s happening.”

The 26-year-old also revealed that he speaks to Mokwena every day.
