Player taken back after Chippa fail to pay transfer fee – report

A National First Division midfielder from Uthongathi FC’s dream of playing in the Absa Premiership was put on ice after Chippa United allegedly failed to pay the transfer fee.

According to Isolezwe, Celimpilo Ngema bid farewell to his teammates at Uthongathi before he started training with the Chilli Boys in their pre-season camp.

Ngema’s joy was short-lived after he was recalled to the NFD side after Chippa failed to pay the transfer fee.

“The boy was promised heaven on earth by Chippa, the coaches were happy with what they saw when he started training with Chippa,” a source was quoted as saying by Isolezwe.

“The problem started when Uthongathi starting asking for money, Chippa had promised to pay the transfer fee but the money never came and Uthongathi took back their player. “

Uthongathi coach Jonny Ferreira says Ngema deserves to play in the Absa Premiership and he was disappointed to see him return to  club.
