Ajax sign former Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro

Ajax Cape Town announced on Saturday that they have completed the signing of 32 year-old Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro.

Ndoro has signed from Saudi Arabian side Al-Faisaly for an undisclosed fee, according to the club.

The striker is reunited at Ajax with Muhsin Ertugral, for whom he played at Orlando Pirates, before Ertugral resigned after just a few months as Buccaneers coach in November of last year.

Ndoro joined Al-Faisaly from Pirates on August 24, but has now returned to South African top flight football.

He enjoyed his best season in South Africa with Pirates in the 2016/17 campaign, netting 12 league goals, finishing the campaign just one goal behind the top scorer in the Absa Premiership, Lebo Manyama of Cape Town City.

“Having a player of Tendai’s magnitude and caliber on board for any coach is a massive boost, he is a great player and hopefully he can rise to the occasion,” said Ertugral on Saturday, according to the Ajax official website.

“I am very excited to work with him once more, in South Africa he will be a very valuable player to any team and I am confident he will do very well for us. I am very, very pleased to have him at the club and thank you to the club’s management for making this a transfer happen.

“He is the complete package, he has played overseas, performed for big clubs in the past and his experience will be a valuable asset. There are a lot of talented youngsters at the club and Ndoro will help them in reaching their potential.

“He [Tendai] is firing on all cylinders and hopefully we can get back to winning ways for our loyal supporters.”
