Chiefs and Arrows to tussle for Sundowns goalkeeper

Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to enter into a bidding war for goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni.

According to Isolezwe, Chiefs are ready to give Ngobeni a salary increase if he agrees to snub Arrows and leave Sundowns to return to Naturena.

Arrows assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi also confirmed at a media briefing on Tuesday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium that they were in the market looking for a goalkeeper.

“It will be difficult for Arrows to get Ngobeni because they will have competition from Chiefs,” a source told Isolezwe.

“Mbaeva is injured, but you know Chiefs have also lost Khune to injury. Both clubs will try to sign Ngobeni from Sundowns.”
