Ex-Chiefs striker warns against putting Kambole under pressure

Former Kaizer Chiefs Collins Mbesuma says new striker Lazarous Kambole needs to be given time to adapt to the PSL.

Chiefs signed Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole from Zesco United on a three-year deal last week to bolster the club’s striking department.

Mbesuma said Kambole shouldn’t be put under pressure by fans who expected him to do miracles for Chiefs when the season starts.

“I am worried that they will expect him to go there and do miracles. These days when a club signs a high-profile player, there are huge expectations on that player,” Mbesuma told Sowetan.

“I hope they don’t put him under too much pressure because it will be his first season outside of Zambia. I hope they give him time to adapt.”

The former Chipolopolo goal poacher said Amakhosi needed to get more quality signings in the transfer window for them to challenge for silverware next season.

“I think Chiefs must make more quality signings. When I was there we had Shoes Moshoeu, Scara Ngobese, Tinashe Nengomasha and others, so we had a very good squad,” Mbesuma said.
