Gabuza puts former Pirates teammates under pressure

Black Leopards captain Thabo Matlaba says former teammate Thamsanqa Gabuza has put former Orlando Pirates players who have left the Sea Robbers to join other PSL side under pressure.

Matlaba’s comments come after Gabuza won the MTN8 trophy with SuperSport United a few months after leaving Pirates.

Gabuza has revived the form that saw him became a regular in the Bafana Bafana at the beginning of his career at Pirates after he joined the Soweto giants from Golden Arrows.

Having fallen out of favour with Pirates supporters over missing numerous goal-scoring chances, Gabuza moved to Matsatsantsa in the offseason transfer window.

“The Telkom knockout is the first heddle. I came to Black Leopards to the side can do better,” Matlaba was quoted by Isolezwe.

“Gabuza puts me and Mpho Makola under pressure as we are his friends because he has already won a trophy. We haven’t won anything. We are being pressured to win something.

“I am happy for him. He deserves everything that he is getting now, he deserves to be happy and to play for SuperSport United because he works hard. He won the MTN8 and I have been calling and sending him messages after winning.”
