I was also assaulted at Orlando Stadium, claims Galaxy media officer

"I was shocked. I didn't know what to do," says Mkhize.

TS Galaxy media officer Minenhle Mkhize has revealed that the Rockets chairman Tim Sukazi called Orlando Pirates and PSL chairman Irvin Khoza when the security officers at the stadium didn’t want to let him inside the pitch.

“During the scuffle, Tim called the Chairman of Pirates who told him to go inside…Dr Khoza then spoke to the security for a few minutes. The security came back and said Sukazi can no longer go inside,” the Galaxy media officer revealed on SA FM.

Mkhize also claimed that he was assaulted by Bucs media officer Thandi Merafe when Galaxy last visited the Orlando Stadium.

“This is not the first time we’ve had an incident of this nature. In our previous game in Orlando we were also treated this badly but we decided to let it go. But this one, we won’t let go. We are officially lodging a complaint.”

“I was also assaulted in Orlando. I was slapped by the Pirates Media Officer Thandi. I was shocked. I didn’t know what to do. But I couldn’t hit back, not when we are facing serious issues of GBV in the country. I am very disappointed cos (because) I looked up to her. But what can I do.”

In a video posted by the club on social media, Sukazi can be seen surrounded by some of the Galaxy staff, explaining to the South African Police Services members that he has an accreditation that gives him all access at the stadium, but the security officials at Orlando Stadium kept on denying him entry.

Sukazi then tries to force his way through the door that leads to the change rooms and the pitch, but he just couldn’t overpower the Pirates security.
