Komphela wants to throw Swallows display ‘in the dustbin’

By Jonty Mark

Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela said it was a game best forgotten, after his side played out a DStv Premiership goalless draw at home to Chippa United on Wednesday.

Komphela pointed to a chance Swallows created in the first minute of the match, with Kagiso Malinga somehow failing to connect with Tshegofatso Mabasa’s cross. But overall he was not happy with his side’s display.

“We came out in the first minute … you can try a million of those at the far post and you will score all of them. It was the easiest of tap-ins,” Komphela told SuperSport TV after the match.

Frustrating

“The second half was a bit frustrating. You could see the opportunities, but we looked naïve … even every time we tweaked things, we manipulated goal opportunities but we took too long. Then we got desperate. In football if you get desperate you get nothing.

“This is one we can throw in the dustbin and take the point …. and look forward.”
