Loftus chosen as venue for Nedbank Cup final

'We are thrilled to host this season's Nedbank Cup final at this world class venue," said PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala in a statement.

Loftus Stadium in Pretoria will host the 2023 Nedbank Cup final, the Premier Soccer League announced on Tuesday.

The final will be played on Saturday May 27, and will feature either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, who meet in the semifinal at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The other semifinal on Sunday sees Sekhukhune United go up against Stellenbosch.

‘Thrilled’

“The Loftus Stadium has a rich history in South African sports and we are thrilled to host this season’s Nedbank Cup final at this world class venue,” said PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala in a statement.

“The 16th edition of the Nedbank Cup has been filled with lots of entertainment and excitement for football spectators, and we expect much of the same for the remainder of the tournament.

“We have no doubt that together with Nedbank, we will deliver a successful event on 27th May … we would also like to thank the Gauteng provincial government for coming on board and providing logistical support for the hosting of this final.”
