Will Truter be offered a new role at Swallows upon return?

Truter was given special leave after the uninspiring start to the current campaign.

Brandon Truter may still be at Swallows FC but he is unlikely to return as head coach, a Phakaaathi source has claimed.

Swallows gave Truter special leave after the uninspiring start to the current campaign.

The club’s chairman David Mogashoa explained to Phakaaathi last week that he had been given two weeks’ leave but didn’t explain what the leave was for.

His assistant Simo Dladla has been left in charge in the meantime.

“They might redeploy him elsewhere because he has a good relationship with the club and the chairman is an honest and kind person and would not want to let him go that easily after what he has done for the club.

“But it will all depend on whether he agrees to it or not. The leave he was given was because he had not had any time off since the club was promoted from the GladAfrica Championship and it was part of easing the pressure.

“They felt being away from the game and spending time with his family might help him. He is expected to come back with fresh ideas. But I don’t see anything new that he can offer.

“Plus there are some CVs that the club has received which are rather interesting and tempting. The management is split on the Truter issue – some say it is time to let him go, while others are not keen on that,” said the source.

Swallows are currently on position five on the DStv Premiership log with five points, having won one, drawn two and lost two of their league games so far.
