That’s according to Gavin Hunt who has had to deal with a number of injuries to key players.

The set-backs didn’t show on Wednesday though as he masterminded a 1-0 win over former team Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday.

The coach has recently lost defender Luke Fleurs. The highly-rated 23-year-old is believed to be his on way to Chiefs after parting ways with SuperSport.

“We can’t, there’s no money. We need to but we can’t,” Hunt responded when asked if he expects any last minute additions to his squad before Friday’s deadline.

“I’ll go to the youth again, how many did we have out there (against Chiefs) again? Five from the youth team and that’s it, we build again.”

Hunt also shared reasons behind Fleurs’ departure from Matsatsantsa a Pitori where he struggled for game time. He made 11 appearances across all competitions in the last campaign and only managed a single cameo appearance this season.

“He (Fleurs) left us, he’s been injured for over a month,” Hunt revealed.

“He wanted to leave us, I wasn’t really privy to it, we were all the way in Botswana when it happened.

“He didn’t train for well over a month but he went to go train the next day at another club so I wish him well. Things happen in football and he wants to play more so good luck.”

To make matters worse for SuperSport who are also participating in the Caf Confederation Cup, Ghampani Lungu suffered knock in their last game against Chiefs.

“Yes, it’s not good for us because he (Lungu) can play in multiple positions on the left and right.,” Hunt said.

“Our fullback is out and we had to play the kid (Ime Okon) there and that’s a blow for us and hopefully he’s not out for too long.”
