Ramagalela bemoans Orlando Stadium’s slippery pitch

Polokwane City striker Rodney Ramagalela was left disappointed by his side's failure to hold on to their lead against Orlando Pirates at what he has described as a poor playing surface.

Ramagalela opened the scoring for Rise and Shine at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon, but Dove Wome equalised for Bucs to make sure the teams share the spoils in an enterprising league encounter.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward believes a slippery Orlando Stadium contributed to the Limpopo-based club dropping two points.

“I want to extend my praises to the coach and my teammates for their support,” Ramagalela said.

“They believed in my abilities and we worked hard together and I managed to score.

“Yes we were disappointed not to hold on to our lead. But considering that we were playing away from home a point is better than nothing.

“The poor pitch conditions also played a part in us conceding an equaliser.

“I believe that our defence would have done better if it wasn’t for the mud at our goal posts.”
