Salary demands block Chiefs midfielder’s loan move

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Buchanan could finish the season at Naturena with several teams losing interest in him because of his wage demands.

Buchanan has been the subject of transfer rumours linking him with a move away from Chiefs on loan in the January transfer window. However, interested parties are said to have been scared off by his salary demands.

“Buchanan’s deal is 50/50, he would be loaned out or he could stay at Chiefs. There are teams that are interested in signing him on loan but most of them can’t pay him the salary that Chiefs give him,” a source close to the player was quoted as saying by Isolezwe.

“Maritzburg United want to sign him but they can’t match the salary that he gets at Chiefs. Some teams would like him to lower his salary for them to sign him on loan.”
