Tshabalala, however, is confident that his team will be able to grind out positive results against the Moroccans at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium on Wednesday.

This is a repeat of last year’s final. which AS FAR won.

“A very difficult match, we know that AS FAR are one of the top teams in the continent. It’s going to be a huge challenge for us, but we have to be prepared to achieve our main goal which is to go into the final and win it. But I believe in our team and I believe in the job that we do every day,” said Tshabalala.

“We have been doing so well so far in the tournament and we just need to continue doing our best because we want to win the tournament, that’s our main objective. We lost to them (AS FAR) in the final last year, so, this allows us to fix what we did wrong the last time. But, it will be a difficult game, they are a good side with quality players.”

Downs Ladies have been very impressive in the tournament, with the Pretoria outfit winning all of their group-stage matches. They finished top of Group A with nine points, scoring six goals and conceded none.

While hailing his team’s defence, Tshabalala said they need to be consistent if they are to beat AS FAR, who finished second in Group B after collecting six points.

“Our defence has been solid, and they must be consistent in our next game. Going into the semi-finals without conceding a goal shows that our ladies have been doing a good job and their hard work at training is paying off.”
