Three players shown the door at Maritzburg

Maritzburg United have confirmed the exit of three players from the struggling coastal club.

United have released Cameroon playmaker Yazid Atouba, left back Bokang Tlhone and versatile 23-year-old Motsie Matima.

“Maritzburg United have parted ways with three first team players,” read a statement from the club. “The club can confirm that Bokang Tlhone, Yazid Atouba and Motsie Matima have all parted ways with the club.”

The club thanked the trio for their contribution to the Team of Choice during their stay.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg have reportedly decided against signing former Chippa United and Orlando Pirates midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni.

The 29-year-old was released by Chippa in January and now remains clubless.
