Unhappy midfielder to terminate Chiefs contract

Midfielder Keagan Buchanan is said to be in the process of ending his relationship with Kaizer Chiefs.

According to his agent Paul Mitchell, Buchanan will not be at Chiefs next season.

“He won’t be staying with Chiefs. He is leaving. We haven’t terminated his contract as yet, but we are in the process of doing that,” Mitchell was quoted as saying by IOL.

Buchanan failed to make an impact at the club since joining Amakhosi from Bloemfontein Celtic two seasons ago.

“We are hopeful that what happened to Siyanda Xulu (who left Chiefs and went on to shine for Maritzburg United) will also happen to Buchanan. He is a quality player. Injuries also hampered his progress at Chiefs.”
