Pirates star gives update since testing positive for coronavirus

Orlando Pirates star Ben Motshwari thanked fans and colleagues for the messages of support after he tested positive for Covid-19.

The player is self-isolating at home and will test again after 14 days. The midfielder said he was being cared for by medical practitioners at this time while he was being treated for covid-19.

The 29-year-old urged fans to practice social distancing during the lockdown. Motshwari is the first PSL player to test positive for coronavirus.

“I’d really like to thank everyone who has been supportive, sending me messages in the past few days; messages of encouragement [and] wishing me well. I really appreciate it and it really means a lot to me,” said Motshwari in a video on the club’s Twitter account.

“Currently, I’m under strict medical surveillance and I’m doing quite well under the circumstances.”
