Pirates striker’s message to clubless players

Zakhele Lepasa has advised clubless players to work hard during the lockdown to ensure that they will be ready to impress when an opportunity for a new club comes.

The Orlando Pirates striker explained that many teams are struggling to maintain some of their players financially due to the suspension of football – meaning once football resumes in the country there will be a lot of clubs looking for new players and one should be ready to take advantage of the situation.

Players like Thuso Phala, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bongani Ndulula, Siphelele Mthembu, Siphesihle Nzimande are currently clubless.

Lepasa tweeted that in the midst of chaos, there was also opportunity.

“To simplify things. All I’m saying is teams can’t manage the players they have, financially it’s draining. So people are being cut off and all. It’s sad,” he said.

“But then the new season will start again soon and teams will need fresh players and they’ll be opportunities for everyone. You work hard now, prepare yourself so when the time comes that a window opens, you’re ready for the opportunity. Think about it.”
