New Year’s firework ‘accident’ keeps striker on the bench
Argentine striker Lucas Viatri is expected to spend months on the bench after his face was damaged on New Year’s.
The CA Peñarol striker suffered an accident with pyrotechnics.
The injury affect both his eyes according to a statement from his club, the former Argentine international is back in his hometown recovering.
“Lucas Viatri suffered an accident with pyrotechnics that affected both eyes,” a statement from CA Peñarol, via The Sun, read. “He is in Buenos Aires, where he is resting, and examinations are being carried out to establish the relevant treatment.
“There is still no exact time to confirm his return.”
