Five places to travel when you need to relax and escape the city

With end-of-year fatigue in the mix, you may be tired, irritable, overwhelmed and in serious need of some time and a place to relax.

A lot of things are associated with the festive season; tinsel, decoration, light, music, cheer and socialisation but one other amazing part of the festive season is often overlooked and that is the chance to relax.

Considering how much has happened in the past two years as a result of the pandemic, it not only feels like it has been a long year, it also feels like both years just melted into one.

It is, therefore, understandable that with end-of-year fatigue in the mix, you may be tired, irritable, overwhelmed and in serious need of some relaxation.

While others choose to stay indoors, practise some self-care and read a book or do some yoga, others relax by connecting with family, spending some time outdoors or even painting the town red.

Others may up the ante by opting for a change of scenery and if travelling is how you relax, we have a list of places you can visit without having to break the bank or leaving the country.
