Night spa at Seven: The most relaxing date night you’ll ever have
The Citizen recently tried out a luxurious night spa at Seven experience for date night and this is how it went.

Date night is an important part of a successful relationship. Whether you’re planning something at home or going out to do something new, actively and frequently going on dates not only adds something special to your relationship but it also provides an opportunity to keep some of the magic going.
As someone in a fairly new relationship, I am grateful for the fact that my partner entered our relationship with his own understanding of the importance of date night.
He committed to two big date nights a month and we’re always on the lookout for something new and interesting to try.
The invitation to try out what was billed as “a luxurious night spa” at Seven Villa Hotel & Spa came at an opportune moment and we snapped up the chance to go see what the Sandton hotel had to offer.
Just a 15-minute drive from our Rivonia residence, we didn’t have to go out of our way to access the date night experience.
Upon arrival at the gate’s security checkpoint, we received a warm greeting from the security guard who very clearly informed us what was needed in order to gain access to the property; a simple driver’s license and license disc scan. He then guided us to a parking spot where we were greeted and assisted by the doorman who carried our bags from the car to the reception area.
Check-in was a smooth process facilitated in the reception area’s designated check in lounge where we filled out the paperwork while sipping on a complimentary drink that is offered to all guests as they check in to the hotel.

We were done in no time flat and shown to our ground-floor villa which comes with a designated parking spot.
I travel frequently and no matter where I am staying, opening your hotel room door for the first time is always an experience – whether you’ve checked out the room online beforehand or not.
You’re either met with disappointment or wonder and exploring our ground-floor villa was definitely the latter.
The door of the villa opens into a spacious room with a bathroom off to the left and a closet on the right just as you enter.
Our concierge took us on a tour of the room and not only highlighted the room’s amenities but also let us know exactly how to enjoy what we had at our disposal.

Just after the sleek, black bathroom stood a lounge area situated next to the gigantic bed towards the end of the room.
While the room had plenty more to see, it was overshadowed by the jacuzzi on the deck which we were keen to try out after dinner.

After checking out the room, getting settled in a freshening up, we made our way to the poolside as instructed to get started on our Perfect Spoil Package for two at the hotel’s Camelot Spa.
The date night package includes canapes and a Cointreau arrival drink by the pool followed by a 60-minute full body massage which is broken down into a 15-minute-long head and shoulder massage, a 15-minute foot rub and a 30-minute back rub.
This was followed by a two-course dinner which you can either choose to have beside the pool or in the restaurant which is called Textures.
While dinner was absolutely delicious, the spa remains the crown jewel in the whole operation as it is a sensory experience that begins the second you walk into the aromatic spa.

A warm and friendly front-desk manager awaits to welcome you to your date night experience and introduce you to your therapists who take you through the process of filling out your short intake form as you imbibe a calming tea.
A quick change precedes the treatment that can only be described as heavenly with just the right amount of everything; aroma, calming music and massage pressure.
As my partner held on to my hand as we lay on the treatment beds shortly after our date night massages, I knew we had found a winner in Seven Villa Hotel & Spa and would most likely be returning in future to recreate the memorable experience.
If you’re thinking of visiting, you can expect to pay 3 100 per couple – excluding accommodation – and I advise keeping some cash on hand to tip the staff if you wish to do so.
There are also packages with overnight stays available starting at about R4 900 per couple staying in a Grand Luxe Room.
