We usually choose a holiday destination based on the activities the country or city has to offer, but what one often forgets is that food plays a major role in the success and enjoyment of your holiday.
According to a report by wedontwaste.org, increasing evidence shows that food makes us happy, chemically, and it improves our long-term mental health.
When we eat good food, hormones and neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine are being released in our body.
In a report for healthshots.com, psychologist Nayamat Bawa explains that eating is a great way to socialise with loved ones, adding that food and festivities go hand in hand.
So, if you had to create a travel bucket list based on the diversity of food on offer, there are five cities that should be placed at the top of your list.
Holiday rental portal, Holidu, commissioned a comprehensive study to explore the richness of culinary landscapes in 75 cities worldwide.
The cities were selected based on their strong presence in multiple rating directories, acknowledging both renowned food hubs and emerging gastronomic destinations.
“Whether you’ve always dreamed of trying monjayaki on a hidden street of Tokyo or dining on machboos at a Bedouin feast in the Dubai desert, this study is the ultimate foodie bucket list.” said Sarah Siddle, Senior PR Manager at Holidu in a statement.
