Legendary investors Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger attract thousands of people to their AGM every year. Last year about 40 000 people travelled to the city of Omaha, Nebraska, and filled the CenturyLink Center’s main arena and its overflow rooms to capacity. Investors travel to the event in the hope of picking up an investment gem or two from the pair who have been investing together for over fifty years.
This year Buffet and Munger have teamed up with Yahoo! in order to video stream the question-and-answer session online for the first time.
“If we were partners with you in a small business, and were charged with running the place, you would want to look in occasionally to make sure we hadn’t drifted off into la-la land,” Buffet wrote in his annual letter to shareholders. “Shareholders, in contrast, should not need to come to Omaha to monitor how we look and sound.” The meeting took place on Saturday 30th April at 4pm (South African time).
