Look! Basetsana Kumalo is still smitten with Romeo
Mr and Mrs Kumalo met in 1990 when Basetsana was crowned Miss Soweto but the couple only started dating in 1997.

South Africa’s beloved businesswoman and television personality Basetsana Kumalo is still love struck after 21 years of marriage to her husband, businessman Romeo Kumalo.
“Bassie”, as she is also known, took to Instagram to post a heartfelt appreciation post to her hubby Romeo, and her fans, friends and followers have filled the comment section with their adoration.
In the caption, Basetsana says Romeo does not enjoy posing for pictures, and that he is not a big fan of crowds, but despite all of that, she still loves him a whole lot.
“He doesn’t like pictures….he’s also not much for crowds…yes I love this handsome dude, but that’s why I also like him, I like him a whole lot,” says the 1990 Miss Soweto titleholder.

Basetsana also mentioned how Romeo did not conform to anything, and that he did not care much about what people had to say about him, adding that she is inspired by him daily.
“He doesn’t conform and really doesn’t give much credence to who says what and what people think. He inspires me everyday,” said the businesswoman.
The former beauty queen then ended her post by telling her fans and followers that Kumalo had been looking after her heart all day, everyday for the past 24 years since they started dating, and for 21 years of their marriage.
She also made it clear that their anniversary was only in December, and that there was no occasion for the appreciation post.
“The one who looks after my heart all day, every day and for the last 21 years of marriage and 24 years of jolaring! Hey siyajola! Our next anniversary is only in December, but today I felt I should just appreciate this beautiful human being,” said television personality.
Mr and Mrs Kumalo met in 1990 when Basetsana was crowned Miss Soweto but the couple only started dating in 1997, and decided to get married and tie the knot in 2000.
Five years after the wedding, they welcomed their first child, Nkosinathi Gabriel.
Basetsana and Romeo then welcomed their second son, Shaka Kgositsile Emmanuel, into the world in 2012, who was followed by their first daughter and third child, Bontle Jasmine.
