‘Days of our lives’ Stefano DiMera dies at 87

The family of soapie veteran Josesp Mascolo who played Stefano DiMera in 'Days of our lives' has confirmed his death in a statement.


Mascolo died after a long battle with Alzheimers disease.

His wife, Patricia Schultz-Mascolo said in a statement she was so blessed to have spent many years with him and that she would miss him everyday.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Days of our lives creator Ken Corday said Mascolo was a valued member of the soapie’s cast.

“The smile on Joe;s face is something we’d all come to find comfort in, and he will be sorely missed. His larger than life presence, kind heart and unwavering positivity has impacted us all for decades and will live on in the memories of his many fans.”

Mascolo has been on Days of our lives for 32 years and his last appearance before his death was as recent as this year. He has also had a role on Bold and Beautiful where he played Massimo. He is survived by his wife and three children.
