‘I am not doing drugs’: Post Malone slams rumours after weight loss

According to his message to fans, Post Malone has been prioritising his health and changed his diet since welcoming his first child last year.

Grammy award-winning hip-hop and RnB musician Austin Post, popularly known as “Post Malone”, addressed fans’ concern that his weight loss is linked to drug use.

The 27-year-old rapper posted a selfie last Thursday on his Instagram account, slamming the rumours:

“I wanted to say that I’m not doing drugs. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I’d suppose, performance on stage. I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier.”

How the ‘drug’ rumour came about

Post Malone’s fans were worried when they noticed he was losing weight, and inevitably some jumped to conclusions.

This is because the rapper set the record straight on Twitter back in 2015, bragging about his chubby body weight, saying he wasn’t fat, just ‘full.’

However as his weight loss continued, his fans began to take notice and rumours started to spread like wildfire.

Post Malone: Baby daughter motivation for healthy diet

After welcoming his first child, a daughter, with his fiancée in May 2022, the Grammy-winning musician revealed that he has been focusing on his health and modifying his diet.

According to People, Malone changed his diet because of his daughter and his desire to be present in her life for a longer time.

“I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel,” he said. “Next up is smokes and brews, but I like to consider myself a patient man… lol!,” said the musician.
