US actress Gabrielle Union praises ‘Blood & Water’ star Khosi Ngema

'Blood & Water' star Khosi Ngema has thanked American actress Gabrielle Union-Wade for the recent praise.


Based on reactions, locally and internationally, season two of Blood & Water on Netflix is a massive hit.

Students at the fictional, affluent Parkhurst High school in Cape Town again had audiences on the edge of their seats.

It stars actresses Ama Qamata as Puleng Khumalo and Fikile Bhele played by Khosi Ngema and the two leading women are at the centre of finding answers to the mystery of a girl who went missing over 17 years ago.

And now the hit show has another fan in US actress Gabrielle Union-Wade, who recently chose Ngema as her “Women Crush Wednesday”.

Women Crush Wednesday” is constant feature on Union-Wade’s page, where she praises women weekly from across the world on their efforts toward women’s causes, health, fitness and helping their communities.

“Khosi is only 21 years old and is already killing the game. Not only does her natural skill as an actress shine through on the show, but also this young woman does it all! When she’s not stunning on Blood & Water, she’s stunting as a model and singer. Her passion for the arts quickly motivated her to break into the industry so much so, that when she landed the role for Blood & Water

“When she’s not working, she’s advocating for clean beauty and healthy eating habits. Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there.” Union-Wade wrote on Instagram.

Ngema noted that in the video posted by Union-Wade, her first name is misspelt and joked that she is now known as “Koshi”.

“@gabunion thank you so much for the love queen. You inspire me,” Ngema responded.
