Gospel star Ntokozo Ngongoma mourns the passing of his 13-year-old son

Ntokozo's son passed away on Monday, 20 October, after a short illness.


Gospel singer Ntokozo Ngongoma has announced the death of his 13-year-old son, Ziphozenkosi Ngongoma.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the family said Ziphozenkosi passed away peacefully at midnight following a brief illness.

“Ziphozenkosi was a light in the lives of those who knew him. A gentle soul whose warmth, laughter and kindness touched everyone he met,” the statement read.

“His passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of our family and all who held him dear.”

The family expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received from friends, colleagues and the wider community.

“Your compassion brings comfort and strength as we navigate this season of grief,” the statement continued.

The Ngongoma family also asked for privacy as they come to terms with their loss and make arrangements to honour his life. They said details of the memorial and funeral services will be shared once finalised.

Condolences pour in for the Ngongoma family

Fans and fellow gospel artists have shared their condolences with the Ngongoma family.

“Condolences to Ntokozo Ngongoma and family on their loss. May the Lord be with you, Bazalwane, at this time. We surely stand with you in prayer,” award-winning gospel singer Dumi Mkokstad wrote on Facebook.

Fellow musician Ntokozo Mbambo commented: “Jesu, you and your family are in our prayers during this time. Uzoba nani ame nani uJehovah [Jehovah will be with you and stand with you].”
