SA’s top restaurants are offering two-course meals for R145

Restaurant Week gives people the opportunity to dine at top restaurants at affordable prices.

Foodies are definitely preparing from 1 October for the return of Restaurant Week around South Africa.

A global concept, Restaurant Week allows locals to dine at the best in their country without breaking the budget.

You can enjoy the top 100 best eateries in SA for the month of October with weekly specials during this time.

How can you be part of Restaurant Week

It is a simple process. Bookings have been opened since 24 September and you can enter your email address via www.restaurantweek.co.za to book a table.

The options include a two-course lunch or a three-course dinner.

In Johannesburg, some of the restaurants include Sotto Sopra in Rosebank, La Boqueria, The Great Eastern Food Bar and Pappas in Sandton.

Three-course menus start from R245 and two-course lunch at just R145, people can make multiple reservations.

One of the restaurants included is internationally recognised La Colombe atop the mountain slopes of the Cape Peninsula and on the grounds of Silvermist organic wine estate in the Western Cape.

The World Best’s Restaurants ranked La Colombe at number 81 and was described as a “minimalist” and “muted” experience allowing chef Jame Gaag’s theatrical dishes to take centre stage.

Another eatery on the list is SA’s Most Stylish restaurant voted by the Eat Out Guide Awards, Cavalli in the Cape Winelands. It has established itself as a must-try when in the Cape Winelands.

The location of Cavalli is stunning, it overlooks a serene dam set against the backdrop of the Helderberg mountain range. The owners wanted to create a sustainable project – ‘Cape Floral Kingdom’, and has become the ‘it’ spot for foodies.

This foodie lovers week gives the opportunity to hop around and find hidden gems in the culinary world, including ticking some of your favourite restaurants off the bucket list.
