Fun for all at Prolife party
Two-legged and four-legged friends celebrated life together on Saturday.
MBOMBELA – Prolife Pet Rescue’s fourth birthday party was well attended on Saturday. After four years of saving countless animals in our region, it has become an institution that the Lowveld is very proud of. The locals who celebrated this milestone with the pets at the organisation, agreed. For community members, these celebrations served as a reminder of the good work Prolife does.
“Without our community members’ contributions, this could never have been possible,” a thankful Karin Erasmus said.
She founded Prolife Pet Rescue in 2011. Since then, the centre has saved hundreds of pets, giving lost and stray animals a loving home and offering them a second chance at life.
Many Lowvelders have adopted Prolife pets from the centre.
About two years ago, it moved from Plaston to a larger premises on the Barberton Road, next to Chimp Eden. This gave animals more space and offered the agency the chance to save more animals’ lives.
Saturday’s celebrations, which were coupled with a Christmas bash, followed a unique format. Each person was offered the chance to choose a “pet for the day” to spoil. Young and old took them for walks, groomed them and even bathed them.
Doggy treats, supplied by Prolife, were dished out. A Prolife photo booth added another fun element to the day. Guests were asked to pledge a donation on behalf of their pets for the day.
However, Prolife is continuously in need of donations, to ensure that Karin and her team can continue their wonderful work.
