Modikwa workers vaccinated for flue and TB

On the last day of the campaign, more than 350 miners queued for testing; this included the mine management and senior officials.

DRIEKOP– Last week Modikwa Platinum Mine partnered with Platinum Health and Discovery Health to ensure the mine’s workers were tested for diseases and illnesses.

The mine organised a TB and flue vaccine campaign that lasted for two days, the campaign started on April 13 and successfully ended April 14. The campaign aimed

at eradicating illnesses at the mine.

On the last day of the campaign, more than 350 miners queued for testing; this included the mine management and senior officials.

The workers were also advised on ways of living a healthy lifestyle. Most were encouraged to reduce alcohol intake while others were told to quit smoking and to start exercising. For this article and more grab a copy of the Steelburger/Lydenburg news this Friday.
