Local team ready to Put Foot

Volunteers from Spain and Australia will join the Hazyview team on the journey.

The Put Foot Rally is an 18-day road trip and adventure to do good, have fun, and experience the very best of Southern Africa. Each crew participating in the rally chooses a charity organisation they wish to support over and above the Put Foot Foundation.

The event will take place in June. “The Lekker Alternative” is the name of the team from Hazyview that will participate in this rally and it will travel in a Toyota Hilux. Volunteers from Spain and Australia will join the Hazyview team on the journey.

The aim is to raise money to put shoes on the feet of as many children as possible, and to collect and distribute 5 000 pairs of socks. The second goal is to support the SANParks Honorary Rangers.

Being closely involved with the Kruger National Park, the Put Foot Foundation chose to support this special unit in the park. The SANParks Honorary Rangers are made up of volunteers who are passionate about the Kruger National Park’s nature and wildlife.

The handover of the shoes and socks will take place during the rally. The Lekker Alternative held a golf day at Sabie River Sun on Saturday and R12 000 was raised in the process.
