NELSPRUIT – Good Hope Centre in Mataffin recently benefited from a local school’s support, in celebration of the country’s former president.
The pupils of Klipspringer Primary School in Nelspruit bought groceries with the money they collected on Mandela Day last month. This was donated to the Good Hope Centre’s feeding scheme.
The school raised about R1 600 to buy the food, while Checkers provided a number of chickens. Other foodstuff the school donated included pap and pasta, a variety of vegetables, sugar, salt and juice.
Sesi Nkuna and Taiba Balaka, two of the pupils, handed over the parcels to the centre on behalf of their school. “I really want to thank the sponsors and all the parents who made this possible,” said Ms Michelle Fourie of the school.
